I started my law firm five and a half years ago with the goal of having more of a social impact, which I felt was lacking in most traditional pathways for attorneys. As a first generation Indian American, who represents clients from all over the world of all different races, I know the importance of having the right space, support and opportunity to achieve success. Since making the leap, in addition to assisting clients on their immigration and business legal matters, I’ve dedicated myself to working on things that I believe in, which includes publicly speaking and advocating to end human trafficking and other human rights issues specifically related to women and children. Over 2 years ago, I decided to create a new company called Virtual Latinos, which I knew would be a company that would offer a service that would be a 3-way win-win-win for all parties involved. As a person who was born in Mexico, I’ve always felt connected back to my country of birth, and where I grew up for many years. Now that I’ve been in the US for many years, I wanted to find a way to give back, while also being able to run a business. I’ve always bee interested in helping the community, and volunteered for over 12 years in my local San Diego Mexican-Jewish community. I love this question because it speaks to the reason I began my business. I was at the end of a year-long cancer treatment, in which I had 16 chemo infusions, surgery, and 33 radiation treatments. At that time, I began looking for something natural to detoxify my body and our home. I found essential oils, became obsessed with their extensive benefits and found a new way of living. Being apart of our local desert community is a big part of what we do here at Grounded. We have hired top professionals within their field to offer therapeutic services such as cupping and deep tissue massage.
