I’d say the biggest factor behind our success is that we’ve built the business around trust. With used bikes, the real question is never just what it looks like today, it’s what kind of life it’s already had. We work hard to understand that story, identify any gaps in road worthiness, and make sure the next rider isn’t taking on problems they didn’t sign up for. Baking has always been a part of growing up. When I stopped taking art classes as a child, baking became my creative outlet. I would experiment with new flavors and techniques. For example, how to make cakes more moist and how to stack the layers correctly so the weight is evenly distributed and the cake is leveled. I enjoyed researching trending designs, color combinations, and decorating techniques for flowers made of buttercream. Starting my own business was really just to establish a way to legally collect money for helping people organize. I never wanted to do it full-time. Almost all organizers at that time had their own business. There are MANY teams now that didn’t exist then. I thought at the time (and still do) that running a business is lonely and not ideal for an extrovert. Read more>>

I saw an opportunity in an industry that honestly has a reputation problem. Construction is one of the few spaces where homeowners are always at a disadvantage. They don’t know the rules, they don’t know the materials, and too many contractors take advantage of that. When I saw that clearly, it bothered me and it motivated me to do something about it.
