We had the good fortune of connecting with Shannon Fox and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shannon, what do you attribute your success to?
I would say the most important factor behind the success of my company, Minute Marketing, is the fact that we really take the time to understand what our clients need from us, the reason why they’re hiring us, and then deliver and execute. In particular we’ve had a lot of success with clients in the real estate industry because this is an area I have had many years of experience in. So we learned how to serve one industry really, really well and then applied some of the same strategies with clients in other arenas. I’ve learned to ask better questions up front when speaking to someone new and as a team, we’ve created systems and processes that help us get deeper with them to get to the root of their need. When people hire a marketing company, they are attending to a surface need (e.g. please manage my social media for me) but there’s a core desire and need behind that (e.g. I don’t have enough time because I want to be with my family or I don’t want to put the time into this because I need to do other things in my business). Our goal with every client is to do both. Solve the surface problem and the core need.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At Minute Marketing, we believe what sets us apart is the attention and care we provide to our clients. We strive to go above and beyond whenever possible and provide all of our clients with an exceptional experience. We love to see our clients succeed and are honored to be partners to their success.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Whenever we have visitors, I usually take them to see Balboa Park and over to downtown to see the Gaslamp and Little Italy. Some of my favorites spots are Basic Pizza, Salt & Straw, and Ristorante Illando. If it’s a multi-day trip, we usually spend some time in La Jolla seeing the cove and the seals before hitting Mission Beach/Pacific Beach. Always have to take people to Oscar’s Mexican and The Baked Bear. I also love taking people to Liberty Station (and burgers at Slater’s 50/50) or over to Coronado to tour the Hotel Del and grab an ice cream at MooTime.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would not be where we are without the support, love, and loyalty of our clients and referral partners. We are immensely grateful to everyone who’s taken a chance on us and entrusted us with their brand and business. Additionally, we are so grateful for every referral we receive – we understand that referrals are not given lightly and we appreciate everyone who’s taken a moment to recommend us.
