When we first started the quintet in 2014, we just wanted an opportunity to perform more in the community and get to play fun music specifically written for our ensemble. I quickly realized that we had an amazing group of musicians who were not only talented, but driven to provide quality music for many types of events in the area. There is no knowing. It’s an all-or-nothing game. If you’re doing what your true passion is, what you really want to do and not doing it as a means to an end (money, fame, prestige, etc.) but rather as an end unto itself, then you physically can’t give up because it’s what you do by nature of you being you. Anyone who is truly out there doing what their passion is, they’d still be doing it even if it didn’t bring them money, fame, or prestige. Fake it til you make it can be terrible advice!
I think the best thing any entrepreneur can do is to take learning seriously. Spend the time to learn, shadow, research and do everything you can to become an expert in what you do. Sign up for the course, attend the workshop, take the assisting position, volunteer when possible, shadow the vendor, learn anywhere you can and keep learning as much as possible. Read More>>
