We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Lupu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I had an eating disorder and I was bolemic for few years, when I was younger. After few years of therapy and a lot of mental work. I recovered.
My life mission is to help other women feel strong and healthy.
To love their body and themselves.
When you have a strong body, your mind will get stronger as well.
That’s why I named my Bussiness ‘Shape360’ it’s a whole circle of mind and body.
My slogan is ‘’love the how, enjoy the wow’ learning to enjoy the way not just just the results.
Many women came to me to lose weight but eventually losing weight became the bonus, and they earned so much more.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What set my gym apart is few things , the most important one is that my groups workouts are small, so they are very personal to each individual needs, I have clients with shoulders injury, women after babies with diastis recti and other issues. My clients are able to workout in a group, cheer each other up, get the amazing atmosphere of a group but still get the one on one attention that they need.
I am making sure to vary and change the workout routine often so it never gets boring.
In my gym, there is no one day upper body one day lower body and etc
Every day they will work on while body , cardio and resistance.
I got to where I am because I am so passionate about it.
I can see the amazing transformation on my clients, not just the pounds they are losing but the confident they are building, when you are doing hard staff at the gym, you can do hard staff outside as well.
You’re teaching your mind that everything is possible when you’re ready to put the work in.
I am very proud of few of my clients that has been training with me through theirs pregnancies, seeing how strong they get and how much of an easier postpartum they are experiencing!
I have been learning that I need to trust myself more, to be patient, but most importantly to be consistent !
When you will get into a healthy life style, you should do it for the right reasons, not just the a Appearance but to feel more energized, confident, to balanced the mood, to make yourself happier.
When you’re feeling good, your all surrounding is feeling good.
I am a girl, that came from a very religious Jewsih background , grew up in Israel in a very small city, where women wand allowed to have a voice.
I could never believed that I will be able to do what I do.
Especially as a woman.
I want the world to know, especially women that they should have big and scary dreams, that they can achieve it all with having a family and kids.
It’s all about learning how to balance it all and priorities (as a single mom for two beautiful kids, I am still trying to learn that:))
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love hiking , I would take them to Torrey pines. Little Italy is beautiful to walk around.
I love to go to cordiano winery in Escondido , beautiful view and a An amazing wine.
I love to eat at herb and wood, And usually we only order many appetizers and share because they are better than the actual courses:(
Clock and petal is a great sushi place in downtown San Diego.
I love watching sunsets at sunset cliff
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Wow! I love that question!
I am thanking first, the few people (very few) who didn’t believe in me, the ones who tried to ‘protect’ me from failure and kept telling me how many personal trainer there is in San Diego and what is so special about me that I think I would be successful.
I am truly thanking them because it made me push harder, it made me think how I can be different and stand out.
I am also thanking my life coach Karin scott for believing in me, and always asking the right questions.
