We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Rosas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was actually to be able to share what I loved creating with others. For years I created many delicious sweets as a hobby but it wasn’t till 2018 that I started to take it seriously. Its very scary starting a business. You start questioning yourself, but at the end it was a risk I was willing to take.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Well I believe in quality and creativity. If its not good enough for me it is not definitely not good enough for my customers, thats my motto. Ever since I was a alittle girl, I’ve always been intrigued by the art of baking. As an adult I decided to take some basic baking classes and the rest has been self taught by watching videos, other amazing talented bakers and a lot of creativity. It has definitely not been easy, specially since I do this as a side business from my regular 9-5 job, it can definitely be challenging, pretty long nights in the kitchen sometimes. You have to be really organized with your agenda. One of the most important lessons I have learned a long the way is that you have to be authentic no matter what and also to take care of yourself in order to provide excellent service. What I want the world to know about my brand is that everything I create is made 100% with love and the best quality ingredients. Everything is baked in small batches to ensure quality and flavor. I can assure you wont be disappointed if you ever decide to place an order!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well this beautiful city has too much to see and visit! So many options! I love brunch so I would definitely start with some brunch, so many to choose from tho, some of my favorite are Morning Glory in Little Italy, Cafe 21 in Gaslamp or University Ave, Great maple in Hillcrest, Breakfast and Bubbles on Park Blvd and those are just a few to mention. Places to visit definitely Balboa Park, Sunset cliffs, Mt. Soledad, etc. The list would go on and on! San Diego is just simply beautiful, you will find something amazing to do no matter where you go!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely want to dedicate my shoutout to my family and close friends, you guys know who you are. They have always encouraged me to pursue my dream and to not give up. Thank you for always having my back on this crazy adventure. Special thanks to my sister-in-law, Alehtse, I couldn’t do it without you, long nights baking by your side has made it easier. To my husband, Rene, thank you for always believing in me, I love you.
