We had the good fortune of connecting with Simone Glad and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Simone, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
There wasn’t much thought behind it, it was more of a calling than a choice. It’s what I love to do. It started as a passion and slowly morphed into a job.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Music is a broad genre of art. My taste is what sets me apart from others. We are all unique and so is our taste. With my songs and Dj sets I always try to tell a story. Maybe it was a place and time I experienced in my life, or maybe it’s something I dream of and has yet to happen. That’s the most exciting and most challenging at the same time, any new song or show is a blank canvas, and it’s going to be painted with different colors and shades each time.
It hasn’t been easy, and it never will be, but often what’s easy isn’t as satisfying as what is not.
I’d like to connect with the world through music, maybe while listening to my music will take you back to a place you forgot, or will make you dance the night away, or will make you discover something you don’t know just yet.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
San Diego it’s America’s finest city, so many great places to visit and check out. My itinerary would definitely include surfing in Encinitas north county, visiting the La Jolla coast line and the cove, a taco tour to discover some of the best Mexican restaurants you can find in the states such as Las quatros Milpas and La Taquerria Tijuana. In San Diego there is also some great sushi, some of my favorite are Sushi Ota, in pacific beach, and Bang Bang in downtown, which at night is also a stunning club which I had the pleasure to perform at.
We can’t forget to mention some underground techno parties! I can’t share too much info about it though 🤫

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We are a product of our environments, so growing up in Italy is how my artist self was born. A special thanks I would like to give to my family, who always supported me since I was young. My soon to be wife, Renée, who has been there with me through my ups and downs as an artist. And I would like to thank Oscar P who has been my earliest mentor since I arrived in the United States 5 years ago.
