We had the good fortune of connecting with Nina and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nina, why did you pursue a creative career?
I didnt choose a career in Art, it chose me

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in San Diego there are many things to do. My favorite eatery is the Whisky House. Great food great atmosphere and great service. Then of course fun time can be anywhere in the Gas Lamp. If the season is right, to a Padre game is always fun. Next a Fairy ride across the bay to Coronado and soak in the beauty of it all. Theres alwasy Old Town to check out the history of San Diego and catch a trolley ride that takes you all over San Diego and gives quite the history of it all. Spening the day in Seaport Village is alwasy a treat and a visit to the Midway Carrier and then there is the best zoo in all of USA. If thats not enough a coaster ride along the coast that stops at every beach town between downtown San Diego to Oceanside.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Best friend of 22 years, David Barron. David was my rock my go to guy. Any problem or I dea I had I could run it by him without him telling me I was crazy, lol. He would say to me, I already know not to talk you out of it because you will do it anyway and succed. He passed Jan 20th, 2026. Still fresh and I miss him dearly. I als want to recognize Jimmy Mc Grath, Jimmy was my #1 fan who always encouraged me to keep painting and dont stop. Jimmy was also my woodworking guru who became my creator of the stands and hanging of my work. Jimmy has also passed. With these two in my life I was always on top of the mountain.
