We had the good fortune of connecting with Luna Zermeno and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Luna, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
I think one of the most important things I have done is making self-love a priority, and this can be related not just in the fact that I carve the time to move my body and creative energy, but also for me self-love means creating the time to work hard and hustle to make my dreams and goals come true and this impacts my business directly. If you ask my daughter she will answer that mommy “sells pants and chooses fabrics” that is the way she explains it, and she is right.
She wants to do her own kids brand, she keeps popping up ideas about new accessories and clothing styles she wants to work on, and I believe this is the inspiration she feels when we are around making Aika an important part of our daily life, for me it is important that she understands deeply that I have my own world besides the dedication I put to motherhood.
She knows my passion for fashion is real and my love for my brand is pure. We are now working on Aikimoki our mommy & me kids brand launching in a couple of months, so stay tuned!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I consider every entrepreneur an artist. Art for me can be related to the way you create in your own personal unique style, you need to be brave to become your artistry a business.
I believe I can create anything I want with passion and dedication; have the world in a click.
I consider believing in yourself is the only way you will get anywhere you want, because there will be for sure hard obstacles over the way, moments where you lose hope, but there is a spark of inspiration that will ignite your purpose over and over.
When I choose the fabrics for my line I get totally lost in time, space and color. From the moment of choosing to the moment of shipping, for me it’s all a beautiful dance of love and passion for what I do, I praise every detail even taking the time to handwrite a thank you note for a new client makes my soul spark. I didn’t study in the fashion industry, but here I am, making my way through and growing each and every day, learning, self-teaching myself and moving forward. My line stands up for being a multifunctional pant that can be used in so many places, from the beach to the office, perfect for a yoga class or a walk on the beach, it all depends on how you style it. The creativity you can put on an Aika depends on your personality. I constantly get surprised by new ways the clients show me how they style a pair of Aika’s, and that opens my eyes even more to the infinite possibilities that the pattern of my line is designed for. My brand is growing one pant at a time by believing it is possible to see my dreams come true, passion makes its own way. I remember when I use to carry 5 pants in my purse to sell in Starbucks to friends and family, now that I see an office full of inventory I pinch myself, but that doesn’t mean it is easy, every single day I BELIEVE in me and will continue to do so, because if I imagine it I can create it, and you do too.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I will take them for sure to have a Rose Latte to Better Buzz, from there walk on the beach in Encinitas, a morning workout class at my favorite studio Be in Encinitas, have an after workout breakfast in Goodonja and buy a Golden Milk or what about a bowl at Eve? Grocery shopping at Lazy Acres or Whole Foods, visit Flower Hills and flower shopping at Societe Flowers or Native Poppy. Hike in Torrey Pines!! Meditation Gardens, Tide Water Beach, One Paseo, walk on Cedros followed by a wine in Carruth and a good talk. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
WOMEN, my pure inspiration. Just being surrounded by women makes the real magic happen, I feel inspired every single day by women all over the globe. My pure source of inspiration and passion is working for women, the deeper meaning and purpose of my brand is to make women comfortable, feel as beautiful as they are and color their world through fabrics.
