We had the good fortune of connecting with Kurt Hines and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kurt, what do you attribute your success to?
People! For me, life is ALL about people. Loving them, serving them, empowering them, learning from them, and growing with them!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an elementary school teacher, a high school football coach, AND I paint murals! I feel my “ART” is in taking what’s before me (whether it be a person, or a canvas), meeting “it” where it is, and helping to create something even more beautiful than anyone could ever image. With PEOPLE, it’s all about empowering them, and helping them to see the beauty, power, and brilliance that’s always been in them!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Start off at Don Panchos to pick up some Surf and Turf Burritos, head over to Windansea Beach to spend the day, and then out to downtown SD for dinner! For the rest of the week, we would definitely head up to Thousand Step Beach, Potato Chip Rock, and out simply adventuring the beauties of SD!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents, family, and friends, and all those who have touched my life in any sort of way. People I want to be like, those I want NOTHING to be like, and everyone in-between.
