We had the good fortune of connecting with Jarod Farver and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jarod, what do you attribute your success to?
Believing in yourself and your product.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Our pickle company was created based off an old family recipe. Growing up with a huge garden, I was always surrounded by amazing fruits and vegetables. Our pickle recipe has no added preservatives, it’s all natural, and always non gmo. We wanted to make a healthy product that also tasted great. After a few years providing pickled products to southern California and the southwest region we decided to add a new line to our product profile. With my love for Bloody Marys and Micheladas I decided to create a mix that was also no added preserves, Vegan, and non gmo. We wanted to separate ourselves from the chemical filled plastic bottles of Bloody Mary Mix on the shelves at the grocery and liquor stores. I also knew that the liquor aisle was the most popular aisle in the grocery store. The liquor world is very competitive so we separated ourselves as a healthy, tasty, multipurpose mix. This wasn’t too hard after some research of other products and blind tastings. We found the best local ingredients and a great facility to produce our mixers for us. Currently Mild and Spicy are out on shelves and our third mixer coming late summer, “Chili Mango” michelada mixer. We also teamed up with a local Vodka company called 619 Spirits in North Park to create a pickle infused vodka. Sounds crazy but they always sell out quickly. Perfect for bloody marys, pickletinis, and a cocktail they call The Pickle Tickle made with sweet & sour and Tonic. After selling to bars/restaurants, grocery, and liquor stores we have had some great feedback. Winning the Silver Medal at The 2020 Drunken Tomato Awards this year and also private labeling for a few bars and liquor companies. It’s possible you have tasted our mix at your local brunch spot in Southern California, Phoenix Arizona, or even Brooklyn New York. We have a lot of exciting things still in the works and can’t wait to share them in early 2021.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I would definitely take them to the beach to grab some fish tacos from Pacific Beach Fish Shop. They’re mahi tacos, oysters and ceviche can’t be beat. From there, we would get some paddle boarding in at the bay! For dinner, I would take them to Starlite Lounge and then follow it up with some drinks at Aero Club. Those venues are two of my favorites! I would also make sure to get some sight seeing in at Balboa Park, Little Italy and Cabrillo National Monument. Some of my favorite restaurants in Little Italy include Nolita Hall and Carruth Wine Cellars. Of course, a visit isn’t complete without hiking Torrey Pines to show off that amazing view!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
These people have all gave me great business advice and mentorship: Joey Baccus- Canvas Cultures Bill Keith, Evan Way – Perfect Bar
