We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Ambrose and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heather, how do you think about risk?
Risk-taking has been a cornerstone of my career, shaping both my personal and professional growth. My decision to pursue a professional snowboarding career in Lake Tahoe was a pivotal moment. It forced me to step outside of my comfort zone and chase my passion, ultimately unlocking potential I never knew I had. This experience taught me that calculated risks can lead to extraordinary rewards.
Throughout my career, I’ve continued to embrace risk as a catalyst for growth. Early adventures like snowboarding in South America demonstrated my willingness to embrace the unknown. Even after securing a prestigious university education, I chose to pursue my passion, showcasing my openness to new opportunities. This willingness to pivot has consistently led to improved results and a more fulfilling career path
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In 2017, I began my real estate career as the front desk administrator at Pacific Sotheby’s in Rancho Santa Fe. Despite having a successful career and business ownership prior to this, I embraced the opportunity with humility and a passion for the industry.
Navigating a new role in my forties presented its challenges, from running coffee and answering phones to adapting to a hierarchical structure. However, my unwavering belief in the transformative power of real estate fueled my determination. I learned that even seemingly insignificant roles can have a profound impact on your career trajectory. Every experience, no matter how small, can be a stepping stone to future success.
My personal journey has been one of hard work, adaptability, persistence, and calculated risks. As the ancient Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu once said, “If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.”
By embracing new challenges and seizing opportunities, I’ve transformed my career and discovered unexpected paths to fulfillment.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend’s coming to town, I gotta show ’em the North county and the ocean! Start with Oceanside Pier for ocean views and maybe even spot a few dolphins. Head south to Carlsbad for the Flower Fields, a springtime must-see, and then hit up Solana Beach to check out Cedros Design District for some wonderful shops. Encinitas has that epic so cal vibe for live music & a good taco. Then onto Del Mar’s as its all about the beach, horses, and good restaurants. You could also check out the Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside – it’s a piece of history right in our backyard.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Dedicated to my beloved Aunt Norma Boardman, whose love, support, and unwavering belief in me shaped who I am today. Thank you for your endless encouragement and for always being there for me, no matter what. Your memory will forever inspire me
