We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannia Prado/ Sherri Follstad and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hannia Prado/ Sherri Follstad, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We were inspired by the gap in the lash industry of quality salons and the service providers in combination with the potential opportunity for financial freedom that comes with owning a successful business. At the time we were very inspired by the lash industry being so new and having the opportunity to share the knowledge and mentor others to grow their business.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets us apart is quality and integrity. We are committed to using the best products on the market and delivering the best service, that keeps the client’s lashes healthy while delivering outstanding customer service. We love making clients feel beautiful! The other key to our success is the relationships we build and the experience they feel while being in our chair. Was it easy!?! No! But we were committed to our passion and not afraid of hard work. Having a business partner to share the responsibility and bounce ideas off of was crucial. Also the clients we have were amazing cheerleaders along the way. It was a cool experience to watch them have pride with us along the journey. They grew with us. One of the lessons we learned along the way was that, no matter how prepared you think you are, there are always unforeseen obstacles that seem so challenging in the moment however that’s exactly where the magic happens and you grow the most. We would love the word to know how passionate we are for people. From our clients, to employees, to our community. In the end we are all in this together.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Mid Morning airport pick up, Coconut Margarita at Costerra. Hotel Del for a quick freshen up. Dinner at Cesarina for amazing Italian food. Must check out Sunset Cliffs, Liberty station, On Thursdays night go by Food Hall at Little Italy with live music and salsa dancing and hopefully your guest is leaving by Friday so you can enjoy your weekend and relax!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We are so blessed to have found San Diego SCORE a non profit that provides mentorship for small business. We took their classes and met with a few mentors, it was a game changer for us. https://sandiego.score.org. Score helped us gather the knowledge and assisted in creating our business plan that gave us confidence that our vision would be successful
