We had the good fortune of connecting with Carina Cano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thoughts when getting Baby of The Party rolling was buying my own freedom. Being able to afford the family time and luxuries of not missing a single milestone as my daughter continued to grow. As a first time mom, raised by a single immigrant mother who worked all day everyday, I knew that the best I could offer my daughter was myself and my time.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a balloon artist based in Southern California, balloon decor is my passion! Something new I didn’t know about myself till I started doing it. My creativity, Work ethic, and love for what I do is what really sets me apart from others. The hard work and love that I pour into every single install speaks for itself. My hustle and dedication played a role to helped me get where I am now, but the support of other around me, who helped promote and mentioned my name in room full opportunities is what plays the biggest role. By far it was not easy at all, many obstacles were thrown at me and still are. Being a small business owner and a full time mom to a now toddler is a huge challenge, but the support that my clients, friend and family bring makes everything challenge so worth it. I remind myself daily of why I started and that I can indeed do it ! Anyone thinking of starting a small business should know that it’s not easy, it’ is very stressful at times but it’s overall very worth it. If your friends and family don’t support you, don’t worry many other would! Believe me ! If I can do it while I battled PPD (postpartum depression) I know that many other can too!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Say less, I love to be the planner of the group/friends! First let’s stay somewhat local and do a nice hike with a view. Perhaps up the Brush canyon so we can get a glimpse of the Hollywood sign and depending on how we’re feeling visit the Griffith observatory right around the corner ! But we can not do much on a empty stomach after a long hike, so down to Sage bistro for a bite and freshly made green juice with extra ginger! I think that during her stay in town, we will most definitely will catch a dodgers game, but right before start off at Melody lounge. Also, what’s a vacation to socal without visiting the happiest place on earth? Two day pass park hopper a must, California adventure and Disneyland is necessary! All the delicious bites we will consume and yummy michiladas at the park. lastly to not wear her out, a small relaxing vacation to Palm Springs will do!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Both my boyfriend and daughter are deserving to be recognized and credited for the continuous love and support. My daughter for all the motivation, She really lit a fire under me. Without them I know that I would not advance from where I started.
