We had the good fortune of connecting with Yoga Your Way and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yoga Your Way, what do you attribute your success to?
Perseverance and customer service are the most important factors of the success of Yoga Your Way. Mary and I have been on the other end of this business as students. I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years and Mary and I met at SUP yoga classes. This gave us great insight as to what we want to provide for our clients. Yoga is not “one size fits all.” Yoga is for every body, everywhere. We truly embody this principle and this is one of the most important factors of our success. When we first started we had many naysayers which only drove our desire to succeed. We were told it would be too difficult to do SUP yoga and clients would be hard to find. Now we have not only built a successful SUP Yoga community, but our virtual platform has taken off with individuals and corporations worldwide. In fact, our community has requested we bring our knowledge and experience on the water to beautiful international destinations. Perseverance truly pays off for Yoga Your Way!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Yoga Your Way was created by a mutual love for yoga and a passion to teach others how to feel their best. We value compassion, dedication, and individuality. We know that everybody’s body is different which is why we strive to help you reach your goals and to feel great in your own body.
SUP yoga works well for improving balance because it requires a lot of balance to stay on a floating board while doing yoga poses. Our Sup yoga classes are carefully designed and crafted just for being out on the water. This is not your everyday studio yoga class! It is challenging, however, people rarely fall off! Because of the particular boards we use and the sequence we have developed specifically for SUP yoga, it is completely attainable to go the whole class with out falling in. Plus, you could do the entire class on your knees, if you wanted to. We offer a wide variety of modifications of poses while on the water. If this is something you have seen and always thought about trying, now is the time!
Was it easy? NO! Was it worth it? YES!! It has been a long road considering we started in February of 2020!!! We all know what happened a month later! From that challenge our Virtual Yoga Platform was born. There is no better way to practice yoga while observing social distancing than outdoors on a floating “mat” in a floating yoga studio (lagoon) – SUP Yoga!
We are most proud and excited about the requests we have received from our clients to expand our business and to start hosting SUP Yoga retreats around the world.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
At Yoga Your Way we know how important self-care is, so we would definitely recommend Grotto Massage in Carlsbad Village followed by Coyote Bar and Grill. But of course you get fit before your feast with Yoga Your Way!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The love and support from each of our families. Laura and Don MacKay, Phil Reaston, and Anne Finch.
