We had the good fortune of connecting with Wendy Salazar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Wendy, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Behind my business success, it will always be because of two factors: my family & my clients. My family especially my daughter; she gives me the inspiration to continue with my business even when its not smooth sailing. When it comes to a hard décor, She cheers me on and it gives me that extra push to go out of my comfort zone.

My Clients no matter if its a new client or a client that has booked me a numerous times they give me that extra boost to continue every day, every weekend and do something super magical for them.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe every stylist no matter their choice of Art has a little nitch or designs that set them apart. As a Balloon Stylist my designs are very recognizable as “Whimsical and Romantic”. I was one of the first balloon stylist to add Real Florals in between the balloons when I do balloon arches and garlands. Also, one of a few who know how to add flowers inside a clear balloon and style a garland. I registered and took many classes with distribution centers and also with manufactures who make the balloons before covid. Online classes made it possible to continue learning even during the pandemic. Along the way I have learned that I must learn new techniques and new designs in order to keep me motivated and relevant to my client.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my friends want to have a girls weekend out we like going to Glen Ivy to relax in Corona, it is defiantly Zen and very relaxing. Temecula is my go to for fun winery experiences and they have a very cute downtown area that has different shops and amazing eateries in the area.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My support system is defiantly my husband who has always been there from day one. He didn’t hesitated to help me inflate balloons along my side to now listening to how my day went. My daughter who is my inspiration and gives me motivation to keep going. My Cousin Erica who was my very 1st intern ever-She was there at the beginning and now cheers me on- I will be forever be grateful for her believing in me! My In-laws & Parents who believed in me and were my support system. They would always took care of my daughter when I had to be at events and made me a “little lunch” for the road while I was so busy I couldn’t stop to eat. My OG balloon inspiration “Shelly Balloon”<-yes she changed her last name to reflect her passion, she did balloons since the 80’s for some of the greatest entertainers in the world! in 2021 she gain her wings ; but I will forever be grateful for her insight and for the number of tips that are priceless. I appreciate whole heartly to my event planners all over southern California who book my designs for their clients special days from birthdays, baby showers, weddings and sweet 16. Thank you so much for keeping me in mind to make your clients special day even more incredible you ladies and gentlemen are amazing!
