We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Zuniga and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Veronica, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
As a single mother of 4 , I have shown my children to never give up, no matter how hard life can get. For example, I finished high school 3 months before my class. I was also a mother to one daughter at the time. I then went on to study Massage Therapy, I fell in love with it! Right after graduation, I was hired at Massage Envy. I worked there several years, by then I was a single mother of four, but I didn’t give up. I showed my children that I can continue to strive, so I decided to open up my own massage business called Bodiful Kneads. I have been successfully open on my own, it’s been 5 years. Doing all this I hope my children can see that there will always be obstacles in the way but you have to continue to push through so that success will be at the end waiting for you! even if you fail, at least you tried.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I opened Bodiful Kneads August 1st, 2015. I specialize in deep tissue , but I do it all , from Swedish massage to Gua sha, to sport massage, pregnancy massage, hot stones and cupping. When I first started on my own it was not easy at all. I had no idea of all the extra work I had to do to gain clientele and to continue to keep busy everyday. To be very honest it took 1 year for me to build a steady clientele. Today, I can honestly say I wish there was more of me so I can book more clients in a day. I think what sets me apart from others is the plain fact that I care for my clients, I hear them out and if I don’t know something, I’ll study it so I can help them heal properly.
My massages aren’t so much to relax your mind , but to heal every injury and ease pain. I’m most proud at the fact I came this far without failing. There were times I thought I was going to lose my business due to the shut down from Covid-19 . My clients supported me along the way and helped me stay open, my repayment to them is to never treat them like a robot, I will treat them as they should be treated with kindness and with my healing hands.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
San Diego is known for their Carne Asada fries, I would definitely take my best friend to eat that! I will hang out with my best friend at the beach, the beaches are beautiful here. I would also show them a place I train Jiujitsu at called Kainga Jiujitsu. My friend friend will meet inspirational people there.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my shoutout to all my clients who are continuously by my side throughout these years. They are more than clients to me, they are family. Thank you for all the support!
