We had the good fortune of connecting with Till Roman Hartwig and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Till Roman, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As a kid, I just wanted to become rich to be able to spend as much time as I want with my family and friends and the things I love. Later I understood that money alone is not going to make me happy and I simultaneously became more and more aware of all the things that could be improved in our world. I just love to sit down with smart people to figure out how to solve meaningful problems.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At tilltheapp we are working on revolutionizing the food industry by providing food creators with the opportunity to sell or donate their surplus food via our online marketplace instead of tossing it away. Our customers get deep discounts, tips, and tricks on how to be more resourceful and a good feeling. Furthermore, we use our data to help improve the value chain in food creation to waste less and less.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would say it really depends on where they are from and what they already know because I am a big fan of new experiences, Nevertheless, the ocean would always be on the list, and if the person is not afraid I would take them to a chill surf session in Tourmaline. Watching the sunset at sunset cliffs and a taco at Oscars are also must-do’s.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are too many wonderful and warm-hearted people in my story to name them all, but I will do my best! Firstly, my parents, have always supported me even though they are coming from an employed background and do not always fully understand what we are doing.
Tanya Hertz was the first person in the professional world that believed in us and showed us how to shoot for the moon and go all-in for our dreams. Her relentless efforts to empower us are continuing till today and I have no word for how much gratitude I feel for her.
