We had the good fortune of connecting with Tara Murray and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tara, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Since I can remember, it has always brought me joy and lit me up inside to help others in life. I value human connection and have had an innate desire to support, uplift, and encourage people on a personal level. I am an empath and nurturer at heart, and someone who genuinely has a passion (and compassion) for people. It makes me happy knowing I’ve made an impact on someone’s life, whether that be big or small.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
A little bit about how I got to where I am today business-wise – I worked in the fashion industry for most of my career life, but had a realization that I wasn’t getting the fulfillment I was seeking or knew was possible. I felt I had a bigger purpose to pursue in life, and that’s what led me to discover life coaching. I’ve been a natural life coach my whole life, so when I looked into it as a profession, everything felt in alignment – that’s when Align to Shine Coaching was born! My mission at Align to Shine is to help both men & women live a fulfilled life & maximize their potential by aligning with their inner self & tapping into what’s possible. Most of us already have the answers deep within us – often times we just need help accessing them and someone to hold us accountable. Through setting personal and professional goals, creating action steps, and utilizing proven tools and techniques, I help my clients discover the best version of themselves and unlock those answers. My programs are personalized and tailored to your needs and desires, and something that sets me apart from others is that I offer complimentary introductory sessions to dive in and see if we are a good fit before committing, because part of the transformation is the investment, and it should be just as important to you as it is to me to work together. My coaching style is empathetic, observant, supportive, and goal-oriented, and I love to ask powerful questions in sessions.
I would say that I am most proud of myself for taking the risk of launching Align to Shine despite any resistance, uncertainty, or unknowns that I felt. While it was scary as heck to announce what I was doing and to take that leap of faith, not taking the risk at all would have been even scarier. I take each day as a new adventure and opportunity to evolve and grow, and have learned that being your own boss definitely has it’s ups and downs – it’s not linear, and you have to be the one who makes things happen!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Although I recently moved out of Los Angeles, I loved when a best friend would visit to show them around my favorite spots and must go-to’s:
Restaurants/Happy hour spots:
Spartina, Bacari W. 3rd, Jon & Vinnys, Eveleigh, Laurel Hardware
Hiking at Runyon, West Hollywood Farmer’s Market, Malibu beach, wineries (Malibu Wines & Rosenthal)
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If it weren’t for hiring my own life and business coach, Megan Brehman, I wouldn’t be where I am today. A huge part of having a life coach is allowing them to hold you accountable and be a safe space, which is exactly what Megan has been for me. Without her, I wouldn’t have the clients I have today, the support I need, or even have announced launching my life coaching business.
