We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanasha Chassity Barnett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tanasha Chassity, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I participate in community events that allow me to work with other local small businesses and charities. Being a small business owner you quickly learn that support from your local community is priceless. In that respect I love doing collaborations, am constantly using my social media platforms to highlight and bring awareness to other small businesses, brands and charities.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The most exciting part of the business is coming up with new and relavent natural products. Recently, I have branched off into candles as well as apothecary bath and beauty items. Learning and experimenting with combinations of natural and healing essences has been an amazing journey. From a marketing stand point, understanding and developing my social media platforms has been extremely important. Building authentic interactions and relationships with your audience is crucial to longevity. The way to reach your goals is through consistency, staying focused on your plans and a whole lot of patience. Avoid hopping on something just because it’s trendy, stay unique, carve out your own lane, stay true to yourself and what you want your brand to represent!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite view locations are Sunset Cliffs, Balboa Park and San Diego’s Museum of Art. For going out to eat it would be Cannonball for sushi on Mission Beach, Point Loma Seafood, Grande Ole BBQ and can’t forget Blind Lady Ale House for the best pizza in town!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shout out to all of my customers, supporters and close friends! I appreciate your business, constant support and would not be where I am today without all of you. A big thanks to my fiancé Clark Allen who often doubles as my assistant when I’m swamped with orders. Special thanks to Tennile Allison.
