We had the good fortune of connecting with Rae Irelan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rae, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my business has been mentorship and coaching. Having someone in my corner that is a few steps ahead has helped me make leaps and bounds that others would say is “impossible”. When my coach has already gone through what I’m dealing with and understands the best ways to navigating through trouble spots, things can become so much easier. I’ve honestly saved years of “trying” things that don’t work, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars, and not to mention my wellbeing because I’m not overworking. In addition having a peer group of others who are growing their businesses has helped me uplevel my thinking and decision making.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am an internationally acclaimed Soulful Business Strategist and artist with a decade of experience working with thousands of spiritual entrepreneurs, coaches, and creatives who want it all – freedom, love, impact, money, health – but are struggling to scale their online businesses while maintaining the rest. I am the creator of Soul Aligned Coaching and host of YouTube Show and Podcast, Soul Aligned; inspiring thousands around the globe to create their own soul-aligned business. I have been seen on TV and film, produced multiple theater and festival shows, has been published in books, magazines, articles, doctoral papers. I am an internationally recognized expert in the field of personal and business transformation, and have been featured next to Deepak Chopra in Forbes, Entrepreneur Magazine, Disrupt, and Thrive. But this isn’t who I always was. I went from making pennies on the street as a performer to performing and speaking about transformation and business to audiences with over 10,000 people on numerous stages internationally from Arizona’s Pepsi Amphitheater to the National Center of Performing Arts, Mumbai, India. I am a girl who grew up in a ballet school since age 2, with an eating disorder since age 11. I fell into substance abuse while on tour with my band, leading to a suicide attempt as I drove my car off a cliff after a show. My journey has not been easy. But I’ll tell you one thing that has helped me continue on when I felt like there was nothing to continue on for… SHOWING UP TO TO MY DREAMS. Inside I always knew I could make a difference. I loved making people happy. Deep down, sometimes buried even, was a small voice saying, “Keep showing up.” I turned up the volume on that voice. I turned down the volume of the voice that said, “You’re not worthy. You’re a nobody. You have nothing to offer.” I choose every day which voice I wanted to listen to, and still do today. We all have both voices. It’s just about which one were letting run the show.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them my favorite yoga class overlooking Law Street with Namasteve Yoga. Then we would go to Cafe Gratitude. If my friend is adventurous I would take her to go Sky Diving at Sky Dive San Diego (where I’m currently doing my sky dive training to become certified!) then we would go to Sunset Cliffs for a walk and picnic!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shout out to my girlfriends. The ones who always have my back no matter the ups and downs. There’s nothing like having tea or sharing a glass of champagne while celebrating each others wins or holding each other with love while going through a hard time. Together life becomes so much more fun, silly, inspiring, and rich!
