We had the good fortune of connecting with Qui-Gon Jae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Qui-Gon Jae, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I was born in San Diego, CA and was raised in numerous parts of the city due to moving around a lot. Moving a lot at a younger age taught me how to make connections and it also exposed me to many different types of people, way of life, music, etc. I’m grateful to be from here.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been doing music professionally for about 8 years now. It started with a Rock Band video game microphone and a notepad. At first it was a fun hobby but something kept me going with it and it has become my life. A long the way I’ve found friends to join this journey within me, who eventually I will break bread with. Hence the name of my company Break Bread Intl. BBI is a clothing and marketing company that embodies collaboration, creative thinking, and following your dreams. I’m still learning many things on my journey but I know the foundation is set and it’s strong.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you’re coming to San Diego (pre pandemic) the first thing imma do is take you to a spot to get some real authentic Mexican food. We gonna go to southeast daygo and grab some humbertos on 43rd or el sabor food truck off cleaveland ave. Then we’ll go to the beach and chill or maybe get some drinks down in PB. Or go all the way to Carlsbad/Encinitas, which is San Diego county btw not to be confused with actual San Diego, and drink up there too. For the ladies, we take them to sunset cliffs and the rest is history.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shout out God, first and foremost. My family second for supporting the journey for the majority of it. And lastly my team for helping me where I lack to make me a better artist and businessman.
