We had the good fortune of connecting with Quantal Langford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Quantal, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
I have a lot of favorite quotes, but one recently I’ve really been thinking about is: Believe Your Beliefs and Doubt your Doubts-Jim Rohn
I think many times we do the opposite. Believing our doubts so much that we give them energy. For anyone creating or building anything in life, you will have doubts on if it could be accomplished. We have to focus so much on our belief that we have the creativity, skills, and resources necessary to make it a reality.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

How I got to where I am, has been built on relationships. Many of my clients I’ve worked with for years. Many clients that come back to me year after year have been built by creating consistent design solutions and results for each client.
I have had my challenges and struggles, now really focusing on clients that would be a perfect match for Langfordesign. I’m very fortunate that many of the east coast and midwest clients still work with me after moving to the west coast in 2014.
I’ve leveraged the sport I’ve been in for so long (wrestling) to work with athletic departments, coaches, and teams. Keeping this network has allowed me to get access to prospective clients.
Now I’m currently building an ecosystem under the Langford Studio banner, creating properties like my clothing brand Just Heart Apparel and my creative/entrepreneur show The Creative Brew, as well as other properties in development.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to be your number one fan. No one will invest and support you more than yourself. Be a champion for yourself and eventually your tribe will connect to you.
Challenges hit me every day. The biggest thing that has helped is my mindset and creativity. Learning how to be resourceful has been important in my business. Investing in myself through exercise, reading, the right podcasts, mastermind groups, networking. These are the things that has helped me through the years.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s so much to do, but it would consist of going to the beach with a coffee in the mornings. Preferably from Camp Coffee, Revolution Roasters, or Pierview Coffee.
Checking out the Oceanside Museum of Art for exhibition, or going to an art event in Artist Alley.
Going to some of the wineries like Coomber Craft Wines and Orfila Winery and listening to some of the great musicians like Swingin’ Johnsons.
Hanging out a Panels Coffee and Comics, Baba Coffee or checking out the Sunset Vendor Market in Oceanside.
Lunch we could hang out at Swami’s, or Beach Hut Deli
Some of the places I would eat for dinner would be Switchboard Restaurant, The TLC Lab in Oceanside,
I love going to work out, so we have to get workouts in at the Compound Gym and do a little wrestling, boxing, jiu jitsu or some circuit training.
There’s so many things to do I know i’m missing something!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I believe it takes a village to build anyone up. Likewise, with me, so many people are a detriment to where I am in life.
First of all my wife Heather, family and friends. For always loving and supporting me in my creative/entrepreneurial
Mentorship: I want to give special shoutouts to Martha Kidwell, my high school art teacher, for giving me the foundation for my creative/design career.
Another shoutout to some of my high school and college wrestling coaches. Athletics has been a part of who I am, as well as a sector that I still work in with my design business. Al Miller, Howard Langford, John Lennon, Franky James, thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with me.
Shoutout to Mark Smith, who resides in Cleveland, TN., and is also a patron for my business as well. Thank you for taking a chance on me with a scholarship in high school and seeing my potential.
Organizations I want to give shoutouts to Studio Ace Arts in Oceanside, Ca., Humanity Showers, based in Oceanside, Ca., Boys & Girls Club in Cleveland, TN. and 100 Black Men of Bradley County, TN. Thank you to all these organizations for allowing me to share and give and build leadership qualities within me to become the person I am now and who I’m in the process of becoming.
