We had the good fortune of connecting with Pryscilla Adame and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pryscilla, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to create diversity with in cuisine, fresh seasonal and Fram to table.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My overall experience has taught me that passion, drive and perseverance go a long way. I’m proud of what Han-gry is now and also what we are building to become.
I first started by just baking homemade conchas ( Mexican sweet bread ). One thing I love about my Mexican heritage is the way family gathers together with coffee and bread, and the food is we share is it’s own common and unspoken language.
Growing up we were a very family oriented, and I wanted to make sure Han-grÿ was also expression of that. I’ve been able to bring together people with in our community by organizing online cooking classes (especially during a pandemic) creating a fun, hands on concepts for families to bond over the share of love of food.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Im a sucker for nachos ! knowing us we both are nachos Fans !
why not go my favorite place, Albertos Mexican restaurant in Bell Gardens the Carne-asada Nachos are mouth watering and you must enjoy an with a Agua Fresca de Tamarindo.
Following that up with another must try location Dessert, Milk + Cookie woman-owned shop in the city of South Gate. Always freshly baked cookies and the ice cream with an ice coffee Americano.
Drive North to Santa Barbara and to Santa Ynez to the most delicious Trattoria Grappolo – The wine tasting and food experience here are mind blowing. Everything on the menu is worth trying all exceptionally authentic Italian cuisine, Try Pros
From Cepellini alla checca pasta dish, crostini con prosciutto e fresh Mozzarella, and pizza parnigiana . my mouth is watering just thinking of it.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My brother, Jeffrey. The Support of my family and close Friends. And the most impotently the local community for supporting me and continuing to do so since day one. Without our loyal customers Han-grÿ Would bot be what it is today.
