We had the good fortune of connecting with Naomi Serrano and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Naomi, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Bridal hair was always my passion but it was a scary jump to start my own business. It wasn’t easy but when the pandemic hit, I knew I could not sit around waiting for the world to reopen. I was inspired by my good friend Latisha, and felt that it was the perfect opportunity for me to take a leap of faith to start my own business. Starting my own business allowed me to control my own destiny during a time of uncertainty, and allowed me to tap into my creativty. There is still a lot that I am learning, and I do not take any day for granted as I continue my growth as a business owner and bridal hair stylist. I’m passionate about making babes blush, and am truly honored to be a part of their special day.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
First off, I love my business. Every little detail seriously has my heart in it. I love love, and love being able to be a part of someone’s most specialday. I am a hopeless romantic and I love everything wedding related. Bridal/event hair truly makes my heart full. I love being able to make people feel amazing about themselves every day. Business wise, it was not easy. There was so much uncertainty. I didn’t know if I was going to be busy enough to make ends meet on some days. Other days I was my own hype woman, and pushed myself to have faith in my own talents. I’ve learned so much and am still learning as a bridal hair stylist and business owner on a daily basis!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out Latisha Marcum. Not only did I nag her to go out on her own and start styling she really encouraged me to do the same and I couldn’t be happier with where I am today. She is constantly my hype woman and I couldn’t be more thankful for her.
