Meet Michael Montali | Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Montali and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, how do you think about risk?
I think trying to make money as an artist without a backup is a huge risk. You have to figure it out as you go along because your business is one of intuitive creation. While product based, it is a perceived product that changes and fluctuates.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am in a band called Hollis Brown. We are an honest and raw Rock band from Queens, NY. We have been releasing albums and touring professionally for eight years internationally. What started in a garage in New York City has now reached fourteen countries and forty seven states.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My neighborhood is so dynamic. I would start with a food tour of every culture you could think of in a small radius in Queens. Then would walk Manhattan from Central Park down to the West Village. I would go to some of the East Village Rock Clubs and gritty places for some underground music fun. There are museums I love, unique shopping locations and pretty much everything you can think of.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
