We had the good fortune of connecting with Marina Yanay-Triner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marina, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
I used to think success comes from how many marketing campaigns I do per month, my advertising strategy, and the number of hours I work. I found out through practical experience that this actually did not translate. No matter how much I was DOING, it did not translate into clients or money. UNTIL… I started to go within. Looking for answers outside of my own body was not IT for me. It was about listening to my own intuition about how to run my business, which clients to work with, which teachers and mentors to hire and work with. How to market in a way that felt fun and exciting.
I truly believe out inner wisdom and intuition are the root of our greatest success. There are millions of answers outside of us, but it is only by aligning with out deepest inner truth that we get to ENJOY our business, and when we do, it soars!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I coach high-achieving empaths to discover their inner joy and thrive! My mission in the world is to empower empaths to spread their gift of empathy, in whatever way feels right to them. To me, empathy entails the ability to see people’s needs, rather than focusing on the strategies of fulfilling those needs. Needs are universal: to be seen, loved, understood, held. Strategies can be varied, and we don’t always agree on those. Our ability to recognize people’s universal needs is our most empathetic gift.
No, it was not easy for me to step into coaching. For many years, I hid behind many doubts and didn’t believe in my gifts to see deeply into people’s souls.
So many of us get told to be a little less big, a little less excited when we are children. And this turns into hiding.
My journey has been one of constantly peeling back those fears and practicing stepping into my bigness and power every single day, one great step at a time!
What is unique about my coaching practice is that I love working with embodiment. Soma – the body – is our greatest cue of past trauma and pain, and it is also the key to our greatest liberation. We spend so much time in the mind, but I see the body as the key to our freedom and ability to thrive in the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Trilogy Sanctuary and Peace Pies for food; Mission Trails, Cuyamaca, and Palomar Mountain for hiking; Balboa Park’s Spanish Village for adventures and art!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate this to Tori Washington (who is also a local in San Diego!) Her mentorship and teachings have completely transformed the way that I look at business and life! She is an exceptional mentor. She pushed me to my next level. She allowed me to begin to believe in myself.
