We had the good fortune of connecting with Lunar RIptide and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lunar, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Cole and Deric both liked playing music and just casually started jamming together in 2015. Deric: “Cole and I both liked playing music and were influenced by similar artists when we first met back in highschool, We just wanted a way to express ourselves musically so we started jamming once in a while at Cole’s house. We got tired of doing covers one day and started writing our own music. That later turned into something more consistent which led us to eventually release our debut EP April of this year.” Bryan: “I joined off a whim because they needed a bass player, Cole told me one day at work “you’re not down” and here I am one year later.”

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Our “art” is the music we put out in the world together as a band. We are most proud of the amount of hard work, dedication, and tears we put into every thing we did. Everyone has just been working so hard for our band to continue moving forward with our dream to be able to continue to make and play music in the more professional setting. To be quite honest, it was not easy to get where we currently stand. We all sacrificed heavily in order to make sure the band stayed afloat. And what I mean by that is that we all had to make certain changes to our lives, budgets, and even time with friends in order to make sure the band kept moving. We overcame these challenges by picking up extra shifts, selling cans, and giving more time to the band. The biggest lesson we learned along the way would probably have to be that patience is a virtue. What we want the world to know that we are Lunar Riptide and we look forward to seeing you all at a show one day.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We personally believe that any beach in the OC would be a prime destination to any traveler. There are tons of diverse options available almost everywhere around. It’s a great place for any first time OC visitors.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
If there was one person who deserves a shoutout, it would have to be our very good friend Jalon Brown. He is a fellow up and coming musician. He has supported us since the beginning and has been there for us whenever we needed an extra musician.
