We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Offering an open air European style market to allow artisans and small business owners the opportunity to sell their wares and not have to pay the expense for a brick and mortar.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have worked many years in the corporate, government, and healthcare industries. The experience that I obtained throughout the years has helped me build this business to where I am today. My recent profession prior to me starting my own business was patient relations in a hospital setting for 14 years. This allowed me to learn how to deal with many different personalities. What sets me apart from others, is I do not give up. My passion is to always help as many individuals as I can and this allows me to do just that.
I am proud to say that I did this on my own with no financial help from anyone. It was not easy and there was a lot of blood, sweat and tears along the way but I was persistent and knew I had to keep going to continue to build my ideas to bigger and better adventures.
There are always lessons to be learned, from week to week I see what went well and what could be better.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to our beautiful mission and courthouse. After the mission and courthouse, I would definitely bring them to the market to shop. I would spend some time at the beach as we tend to take that for granted living so close. I would travel a bit up north to Solvang and Avila Apple Farm, two of my favorite places to go. As for food.. It is all about home cooking and BBQ’s.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A shout out to my husband Bryant, who is my biggest supporter. He is very much involved with the business. I would also like to thank all the vendors who are a part of Team Blissful, because without them, I would not be as successful as I am.
