We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Chronert and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lindsey, how does your business help the community?
At MIHO, we believe food and drink are powerful tools for connection in a world where isolation is a growing challenge. Our mission is to bring people together and create spaces where meaningful conversations, laughter, and shared experiences thrive.
Through thoughtfully crafted menus that celebrate seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, we not only support sustainable farming practices but also ensure our offerings are rooted in care for the environment. By working closely with small farms and purveyors, we champion responsible agriculture while delivering fresh, vibrant flavors to our guests.
Paired with expert event planning, we aim to create moments of surprise and delight that stay with our guests long after the event ends. From the flavors on the plate to the ambiance of the gathering, every detail is designed to spark joy and foster a sense of community.
Whether it’s a wedding, corporate event, or intimate dinner party, MIHO is committed to curating unforgettable experiences that bring people closer together.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career has been anything but linear, and that’s one of the things I love most about it. I started with a degree in kinesiology and a vision of pursuing physical therapy, but my passion for events, creativity, and building community led me down a different path—one that allows me to combine strategy, storytelling, and connection.
I’ve had the privilege of working with high-profile clients, planning luxury events, and creating unforgettable experiences, from intimate dinners to international sporting events and celebrity polo matches. What sets me apart is my ability to weave together thoughtful details, innovative design, and genuine hospitality, all while ensuring that every event reflects the unique story of those it’s for.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built—whether with colleagues, vendors, or clients—and the impact those connections have had in creating something truly meaningful. It hasn’t always been easy; the events world can be unpredictable and intense. But I’ve learned to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, leaning on my resilience, adaptability, and sense of humor to overcome obstacles.
The greatest lesson I’ve learned is that success comes from authenticity—staying true to your vision while valuing collaboration and listening to the voices around you. My story, and MIHO’s story, is one of creativity, intention, and a deep desire to bring people together in ways that feel personal and memorable.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1
Land at the San Diego airport and head straight to Mitch’s Seafood for fish tacos by the harbor. Nothing says “welcome to San Diego” like that first bite!
Head to Liberty Station to cruise around the market and shop or grab a coffee or cocktail at Moniker General.
Day 2:
Start the day with vinyasa yoga at South Park Yoga, then grab a smoothie from Rad Habits next door.
Head to Little Italy’s Farmers’ Market to stroll the stalls and pick up fresh produce. Snack on some oysters.
Swing by Home Ec. for Rancho Gordo Beans and Companion Bread. And stop at James Coffee Co. for a latte. Pop into Blick for art supplies and say hi to our pals at Crevette. Maybe a popsicle at Holy Paleta or pastry from Bonjour Patisserie.
Evening plans: Dinner at bica for incredible food, followed by live music at LouLou’s.
Day 3:
Morning coffee from Revolution Roasters in Carlsbad, followed by a beach walk.
If it’s warm, we’ll grab sandwiches from Board & Brew or Moto Deli and hit Beacon’s Beach or Stone Steps in Encinitas.
If it’s cool, we’ll explore the Self-Realization Fellowship gardens or the San Diego Botanic Gardens for some peace and nature.
Dinner at Corner Pizza or Campfire.
A bonus day if we have time:
A day trip to Mexico’s wine country, Valle de Guadalupe, for an unforgettable meal at Finca Altozano or Fauna. Pair it with local wine and soak in the dreamy landscape.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
At MIHO, our success is truly a collective effort, and we owe so much to the incredible team of passionate and talented individuals who bring our vision to life. We want to dedicate our shoutout to the leadership team at MIHO: Chef Rocío Siso-Gurriarán, General Manager Jessica Rauch, and Senior Experience Creator Samantha Straus. These remarkable women are the cornerstone of MIHO, driving us forward every day with their creativity, expertise, and dedication.
Chef Rocío’s culinary artistry and commitment to sustainability shape every dish we create, ensuring each bite tells a story of care and intention. Jess leads with grace and strength, ensuring our events run seamlessly while empowering our team. Samantha’s attention to detail and ability to transform ideas into unforgettable moments make her an indispensable part of the MIHO experience.
At the helm of it all is our visionary CEO, Kevin Ho, whose leadership philosophy pushes us to continually grow and innovate. Together, this dynamic team is the heart and soul of MIHO, and their collective efforts are the reason we’re able to create meaningful connections through food, drink, and unforgettable events.
