We had the good fortune of connecting with Leah Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Leah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I am a licensed nurse practitioner and a native to San Diego. In 2015, our world was turned upside-down as my husband was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. After completing his chemotherapy and radiation, we were looking for alternative methods to heal his body and help him recover faster. We decided to open a wellness spa in Poway, and have many modalities for healing. We are best known for our amazing infrared saunas, PEMF technology, personalized medicine, whole body vibration therapy, and nutritional coaching.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We love what we do and grateful to be following our passion for health and wellness! I enjoy using my clinical and educational experience as a nurse practitioner to develop personalized wellness plans based on one’s DNA. We have three infrared saunas that are great for detox and skin health. We also have two fantastic machines called PEMF, which helps with recovery and reduces inflammation. We also have a new cryoskin machine that is great for skin toning and fat reduction. We are fortunate to be serving the community in which I grew up in and helping people reach their wellness goals.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start off by hiking Torrey Pines, the breathtaking views of the ocean and the beautiful scenery. I would then take them to lunch in Little Italy, all the yummy food, shops, and the community feel.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, Joe Brown, who was the inspiration for starting the business and supportive throughout the whole process.
