We had the good fortune of connecting with Lanna Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lanna, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
It’s not what you see on TV! It’s not just walking into a luxury property and selling it, there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes (and not so glamorous work!).
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
After graduating from law school, I realized I wanted to use my law degree outside of the courtroom (and I physically wanted to work outside of the courtroom..) and I landed a position that exposed me to international real estate transactions and I was hooked quick!
I love Downtown San Diego – I went to law school in Downtown San Diego and I’ve lived here 10 years since. So I made a quick pivot and worked my way into specializing in urban real estate in Downtown San Diego. I’m currently on a top producing team for 92101 – it took a lot of hard work and ups and downs to get here – (rejection, cancelled transactions, no show clients to name a few..) but its all been worth it and I’m excited to see what the rest of my career has in store!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d kick the first night off by grabbing sushi at my favorite restaurant, Shino. After Shino, we’d stop at a couple great spots in Little Italy for wine/cocktails – Born x Raised, Craft & Commerce, Kettner Exchange to name a few.
I’m an avid golfer, so we’d fit in a round of golf at The Crosby in Rancho Santa Fe where I’m a member. I’d stop by Del Mar on the way back downtown from The Crosby because every visitor needs to spend sometime in Del Mar.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Hands down my Mom! She is a self made CEO aka powerhouse and always encourages me to keep working hard!
