Meet Kevin Capacia | Owner, Director, Teacher

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Capacia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kevin, what do you attribute your success to?
The success of our business is predicated on the quality of musicianship, artistry, and teaching in our studio space. We pride ourselves in bringing on teachers that not only have the temperament to teach, but also be a skilled and active musician/artist in the community. There is an elevation in learning quality when learning from those who are actively practicing their craft.
What should our readers know about your business?
The combination of art and music in one space provides inspiration for all those who take lessons. This cross-pollination of art in a single space brews creativity, inspiration, motivation, and dedication among not only our students, but staff as well! Not many places can provide such an array of musical/artistic lesson and classes to choose from.
And like stated earlier, we pride ourselves in bringing along staff that are active practitioners of their art/music, which in turn brings an elevated quality of artistry to our professional space.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The beach, obviously!
Balboa Park as well with their beautiful parks, museums, art, culture, and live music! Its just a great central hub to get a pulse of whats happening in San Diego.
Maybe catch a show at the BellyUp in Solana Beach!
And the food! Convoy st. hosts San Diego’s premiere variety of Asian food from Korean, Japanese, Chinese foods, among an endless variety of other drinks and desserts.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Big shoutout to our sister company “The San Diego Music and Art Company”. Their template for success, led by owner Mat Rakers, is a strong reason why EMAAC is growing in success! They’ve paved the path for success.
Another shoutout to my family of course! Coming from a family of engineers and mathematicians, its difficult to branch out into music and small business ownership, but their unwavering support has helped guide me through the process as I’ve learned how to navigate being both a professional musician and business owner.
