We had the good fortune of connecting with Kayla Patterson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kayla, how do you think about risk?
You can’t have reward without risk. Calculated risk, though. You have to be willing to fail, willing to put it all on the line for what you want to achieve, whether that be in the fitness world, the business world, or whatever world you want to be a part of. You have to dive in full force. That’s how see it, anyway.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
First and foremost I am a Jiu-Jitsu athlete. It’s what keeps me sane during hard times and what gives me peace. I love to show other individuals what they are capable of. There’s something truly fulfilling about empowering other people
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my all time favorite places is Woodys on the beach in PB! We’d most likely start with some lunch over looking the water and then make our way to Baja Beach Cafe for a nice mega margarita for happy hour! One of the days would be filled with hiking around Torrey Pines, it’s also a favorite place in the city. And of course I can’t not show off the Gaslamp Quarter and all the charm of downtown San Diego.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have an amazing support group! My family and friends give me 100% backing on whatever adventure I decide to tackle. One particular business that I really look up to is Legion American Jiu-Jitsu in San Diego. The owner and team are very forward thinking individuals that give me a great deal of inspiration.
