We had the good fortune of connecting with Jake Vasquez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jake, what do you attribute your success to?
A Good name building power and relevance in our brand. Putting out a great product. The success of our brand is our clients. Because without their vision our skills and knowledge of the industry we have no brand.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Urban Method Development believes there are too many rules in the world we want to surround ourselves with people that apply Not rules but live by principles. We care about simplicity. People underestimate simplicity because they don’t think that it takes that much effort but it does. We care about the esthetics and the efforts and sacrifices involved in making something easy, simple, functional that allows it to do more with less.

The thing with building is it takes a lot of effort we want to be able to come in and Create/ Build a good idea or take an already good idea and make it better! In order for us to grow as people, community, we have to share ideas, make better choices, in order to make our cities/ homes more inclusive, connected, healthy and vibrant.

Some concepts are hard to get to and can be expensive. So when you get there, it may not be worth it financially.
That’s why our Solgan is “Let Our Methods construct your Reality!” We got where we are today with a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and not taking no for an answer. No, it wasn’t easy, it’s been the hardest thing I’ve done so far. I’m optimistic so what I do is look for the good in individuals. I like to think if you put your trust out there, and really give people the benefit of the doubt and see their best intentions there going to want to live up to it. If you do people will want to rise to their occasion. There’s no advantage in Hate, even if where mistreated or misunderstood. “If you can see pass Hate. You will then see through Adversity. We see through Adversities through Knowledge & Hope!

We don’t just build structures we build to benefit the welfare of others and Build with a purpose to enhance urban innovation. In a developing world. Opportunity is everywhere but some cities are not so fortunate we want to build focusing on a better quality of life. For those with money and those without.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
P.B during the day, Surf Mission beach, Go see some high-end Art in La Jolla cove lunch at Dukes, Gaslamp, and Horton Plaza in the evening, clubbing at Omnia and Parq, Breakfast at Poseidon Del Mar, long walk on the beach at Dog Beach with my fluffy puppy dog, check out the plaza have an ocean view lunch at Il Fornaio, Karaoke at lamplighter, take a boat out at mission bay, Go do some Gainers at Sunset Cliff’s, Go Bomb U.C.S.D- 8 story parking structure and just roll around the soccer field through the whole campus, hike potato chip rock Mt Woodson, watch the sunset in La Jolla because the West Coast is the Best Coast!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Dad was a builder so I owe some of my knowledge and skills to him, A lot of love and support coming from a good strong close family, and the biggest kicker is I’m one of Jehovah’s Witnesses since I was a young boy and have always wanted to be an Internation Builder. Some people view success on what they have, I’ve always viewed my success on the skills I have as a builder and what I have to give. Because of that, I’ve been able to help build many of their local projects in the community as well as branch projects in N.Y.C. I consider them the best builders in the World an organization that can build without borders. Much of my success, guidance, structure, recognition is owed to the support, love, and encouragement of the organization.
