We had the good fortune of connecting with Hope Reid and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hope, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m originally from Poughkeepsie, NY. My background and upbringing impacted me in a way that I feel made me solid as an individual. When I say solid I speak of structure, my values, morals, my views on life and the things in life. No matter what those things are from the simplest thing to the most complex. It also gave me drive.. taught me to be optimistic and hungry.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Everything in life is art… and we all have the ability to construct art in some type of form. I feel what sets me apart from others is my versatility, also being able to quickly adapt, grow and learn from my experiences and surroundings. What I am most proud of is the distance that I have traveled to reach this position. To get here professionally, simply dedication. Not by a long shot was it easy because of the challenges I faced along the way. One thing for certain being passionate about what you do or it is that you like and being dedicated help me overcome those challenges. I’ve learned that not everyone is going to like what it is that you do and for that same group of people there’s gonna be a lot more that love what you do. Never stop and stick to the script. I speak for myself and my brand when I say I do what I love and it’s from the heart, sky’s the limit

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yea I can definitely say that where I am right now is due to the backing in every which way, of a lot of someone’s (laughing), I cant just say it’s one individual. First I’ll say hands down my mom and my pops, they had the biggest influence on where I am standing to this day. Then I’ll say my cousin struggle, my brother Chris, my friends Dj Smoove J, Alex (R.I.P), Face, B Watts, Ju Ju, Tony (Dirty Red)… and I can go on but I don’t think I have that much space lol
