We had the good fortune of connecting with Heidi Thompson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heidi, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I look at work/life balance as less of a balance and more of a blend. I’m not a big fan of compartmentalizing my life so I structure my work so that it allows me to have the freedom I want to have. Sometimes that means I work more, sometimes it means I work less, but the point is that I always have control.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In my business, Evolve Your Wedding Business, I help wedding professionals grow their businesses without going crazy in the process. I’m a business strategist and marketing geek as well as the host of The Evolve Your Wedding Business Podcast and best-selling author of Clone Your Best Clients. It definitely hasn’t been easy to get to where I am but growth never is easy. It forces us to step outside of our comfort zones over and over again if we want to grow and succeed. My entire focus is helping wedding professionals grow their businesses without going crazy in the process and I want to be known as the person who helps wedding business owners work less, make more, and have the financial, time, and creative freedom they’ve always dreamed of.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My local bar of choice is Coin-Op Game Room in North Park and I always bring people there when they come to visit.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There is an excellent book that really helped me take more control over my time and my work and it’s called Work Less, Make More by James Schramko.
