We had the good fortune of connecting with Engy Alawdan Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Engy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I always had passion about beauty and it’s secrets. Being from the middle east had so much impact on shaping my brand,&the way it represents it self. The uniqueness in it is combining the charm of oriental and modern.
I always wanted to empower women in different way kinda the way I grow up seeing beauty around me.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Engys beauty lounge is an exotic beauty experience. We provide the La Jolla community with a luxurious environment while still ensuring a boutique and specialized experience for every customer. As a woman-owned business, we are in full support of empowering our community and making every woman feel like the queens they are to reach a standard of service that is unparalleled in the beauty world.
We take no greater pride than ensuring you have a once-in-a-lifetime, magical experience that will open the door to a whole new world of exotic beauty for each woman.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Would definitely take my best friend to La Jolla cove and to see the sea lions. Will go eat in downtown and little Italy.
Will not miss San Diego zoo and seaworld
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m so grateful to have such supportive and loving family. My husband has been my number one fan, always wanted to see me shine and helped in every step creating my brand.
