We had the good fortune of connecting with Elise Borelli and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elise, what role has risk played in your life or career?
If you want to grow in any area of your life you have to be willing to step out of your comfort zone, bet on yourself, and take risks. Prior to starting my own personal training and online coaching business, I worked at the front desk of a Marriott hotel. I remember feeling completely unfilled but also being completely terrified to put in my 2 weeks and leave. I was afraid of losing my 401K, my health insurance, and a steady income. But more than anything else, I was afraid of staying the same, letting the years go by without pursuing my dreams, and not living up to my full potential. If I would have never followed my heart and my dreams I wouldn’t be where I am today. Now, I get to work for myself, create my own schedule, and make the impact in people’s lives that I’ve always wanted to make.
What should our readers know about your business?
HI! I’m Elise Borelli, an ex competitive snowboarder turned certified personal trainer and online mindset, fitness & nutrition coach. I specialize in helping women achieve sustainable fat loss with balance and confidence. Ups, downs, yo-yo dieting, binge eating, deprivation, obsession with the scale, zero confidence… you name it, I’ve been through it which is why I’m no passionate about taking what I’ve learned to help my clients create an effective STRATEGY to reach their goals once and for all! I help my clients move past deprivation and “eating healthy” so they can achieve their dream body.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting I would definitely start by taking them to the La Jolla Cove and Mt. Soledad to see the spectacular view. From there I would make sure to rent some beach cruisers at Boardwalk Electric Rides and take a nice ride on the PB boardwalk. While in PB we would grab a few drinks at El Prez and hop around to Duck Dive, PB Shore Club, and grab tacos at City Tacos. On another day I would want to venture into downtown, watch a Padres game and stop by either the Blind Burro, Bubs at the Ballpark, or Bootlegger. The best part about San Diego is that no matter what area you’re in; North Park, Downtown, PB, OB there’s are always great food and entertainment.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout is to the people who turned me down for higher positions within the Marriott corporation. It was those “nos” that make me look outside the box and pursue my true passions.
