We had the good fortune of connecting with Carina Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to coach athletes in powerlifting because I love powerlifting. I love helping people get strong and seeing their smiles when they get stronger and hit numbers they never thought they would ever achieve. I just knew I could use my knowledge and people skills to really help people in the powerlifting community.

What should our readers know about your business?
I take pride in my powerlifting coaching business. I take pride in being there at my athletes meets. I make myself available 24/7 for my athletes so they never feel alone. Being an online coach has its challenges. Some people need hands on work and trying to fix form and technique online without seeing people in person can be challenging especially for newer lifters. I always try to go above and beyond to make videos or find videos to help them. I’m proud of the many athletes I’ve coached that have added so much to their totals and had fantastic meets and just feel so great about their own progress. I take pride in helping others overcome insecurities and try to spread my self love Motto to them.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
We would go to Coronado, walk the gaslamp, hit up my favorite local taco shop, take a drive up the coast to Oceanside. We would bar hop in north park and check out my favorite little spot in la Mesa; the hills pub.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My dad has been the driving factor in everything i do. He passed away in 2013 after being paralyzed for 1393 days. He gave his all in every aspect of his life and I definitely do the same.
