We had the good fortune of connecting with Donisha Logan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Donisha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was inspired to start my business because I didn’t see many people who looked like me in wellness spaces. I remember taking a class and I left saying that I needed to bring this to my people. Yoga can be healing physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It can help us all remove a lot of stored trauma. The benefits are invaluable and I’m grateful that I followed through on my intuition to venture into the wellness space.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Since the last time we talked a lot has changed. I’m excited with how my business has grown. I’ve adapted to the times and have a vast array of virtual offerings. In addition to yoga, I’ve added sound healing to the mix and it’s been very well received. Sound has a way of connecting not only to the body, but the mind as well. I enjoy this new avenue and as I continue to grow as a sound healer I’m excited for all of the beautiful sound baths to come. I’ve also added a mommy and me offering to my services. This addition was inspired by all of the moms who expressed how impressed they were with me sharing the mat with my little one. I think it’s so important for moms to take time to breathe within their day. I also love that the mommy and me classes foster the growth of family connection. This offering helps to lay the foundation for little ones and helps introduce yoga in a really fun way. Throughout all of the changes and additions to my business I’ve learned a lesson that we all should remember. There is space for you, your story is exactly what someone needs to hear to change their life, be fearless and consistent, all is coming.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Southern California for a week I would of course do a beach tour and go to all of my favorite scenic spots, like La Jolla, Coronado, Mission Beach. We would do a winery tour. We’d get some Italian food from Little Italy, tacos from City Tacos, hit up Tender Greens. We’d also most likely take a trip up the coast because that’s absolutely necessary. Let’s not forget a yoga class and sound session by the water to top it all off. That sounds like a beautiful vacay.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to shoutout my yoga therapist/mentor Desiree. She helps me to remember my power, she helps me remember how far I’ve come, the things I’ve healed, and the things that are still in the process of healing. I’d also like to give credit to my son. He is my constant reminder to be fearless and never give up.
