I have three kids and I think one of the most important things I’ve done as a parent is work on myself and learned to practice my own self-care. I think the most important thing I’ve done that had the biggest impact on my kids was having a business that gave me a lot of flexibility to still be around. I am very fortunate to have the ability to still do things like being a room mom or making most of their activities/sports. When we decided to have children we know that we wanted one of us to stay home with them. That has had the biggest impact on my family and my art. When I decided to shift to staying home or really, working from home, full time, it changed all our lives. Of course it impacted us financially, especially in the beginning but the balance it brought to the family by having one parent available to manage the house and kids, was invaluable.
