We had the good fortune of connecting with DeAndra’Nicole Calvin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DeAndra’Nicole, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
A nervous wreck! …I told myself after all that I have been through I never gave up on anything that I tried to achieve whether if I succeeded or failed I tried. So this was a little different there was a huge monthly bill with monthly expenses to keep the doors open. I prayed and it all made since that I could do it, I was capable and if I worked hard I will prevail.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
DeAndra’Nicole Hair Studio…..As me and my Clients call it the Lady Cave have set so many sprits free of being scared to make the next move, feeling not worthy,Unpretty…….When you come into the salon your greeted with a warm hug and I know most about every client I had we talking the whole appointment about new adventure he/she may want to do.I proud that my place provides a space for being open and comfortable. Hard work and dedication long hours and being consistent with my work has led me to be open and I see longevity here. It’s Not easy I learned to take a break for myself and family.,And detox spirituality and physically, take vacations often to reward your hard work and sit back and reflect on your new stage in life. I want the world to know I’m just like you….But if you want something you work hard don’t give up and go after it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ohhhh So I would definitely take them to Wood Ranch, Matador Mexican grill , Sea 180 Tavern. Beautiful views great food! I would also take them to mission beach or sea port village. And Fashion Valley Mall is a must ….Did I forget to mention out outlets South of the border .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and Foremost all the Glory goes to Jesus Christ for forever being faithful. My Husband Jeffphon Eddington for always being supportive through my long hours. My mother Stephanie Davis who takes care of our Daughter Malieah Rose Eddington…”My clients”……..I’m forever grateful for you all trusting in me ….Myfriends and family who always encourages me to go for it and always sends me ideas to advance.
