We had the good fortune of connecting with David Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risks are necessary in the sense that nothing is ever really promised. You could seek other alternatives in life, safer routes, even. Yet, some freak accident could happen to you tomorrow that turns your world upside down. So why not try something out of the ordinary? Especially if it calls to you as music did for me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a producer I feel I provide a different bounce and feel in my music than most other producers. However, in this industry, everyone has something to provide. Something which is unique and singular to them. That’s the beauty of it. I can give you something completely different than the next guy, but he or she can also bring their own sauce to the session. Right now, I am most proud of reaching my first million-plus streamed track and am looking forward to the next. I am definitely most excited about my next album drop which will be titled “Outside Looking In”. I got where I am through hard work, long nights and tons of networking with likeminded individuals. I have learned to be patient, diligent and hardworking throughout this process. Nothing is handed out. I want the world to know MY name and what I stand for both musically and personally. It is all love.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am definitely a low-key kind of guy. So, I keep the usual spots on my radar. Definitely grab a pint and maybe watch a footy match at Shakespeare’s Pub. Grab some pizza at either Landini’s in Little Italy or a burger at Haye’s in Barrio Logan. Third Avenue in Downtown Chula Vista is also booming right now, which is great to see. Tons of great breweries and eateries popping up left and right. Aside from that, my friend would be stuck with me in the studio working on music because there is no time to waste.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank Blazing Suns Entertainment for its unwavering support and creative input. I would also like to thank my fans who have been supportive since day one as well my mother who has always been my rock and emotional support during these times.
