Meet DANNY ALVAREZ | Owner at Level 5 Drywall

We had the good fortune of connecting with DANNY ALVAREZ and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DANNY, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I’ve always believed risk and reward go hand in hand. It runs in my family, and my motto has always been big risk, big reward. Taking risks isn’t about gambling for me. It’s about trusting my vision, putting in the work, and stepping up when others hesitate. Every major step in my life and career has come from taking bold risks, and those moves have always pushed me to grow and succeed.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work in drywall is built on precision and high-level finishing. Not everyone can deliver a true Level 5 finish consistently—that’s what sets me apart. I focus on details like flatness, lighting, and clean results that actually hold up in real conditions.
I didn’t get here overnight. I learned hands-on, job by job, through long days, mistakes, and constantly improving my craft. It wasn’t easy, but those challenges taught me how to work smarter, solve problems, and maintain a high standard.
What I’m most proud of is building a reputation for quality work that speaks for itself. To me, Level 5 isn’t just a name, it’s a standard. I’m here to deliver top-tier results, not cut corners, and to keep getting better every day.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d take my friend to Coronado Beach for some beach vibes, hit tacos El Gordo or even Tijuana for some tacos! Catch a Padres night game in the Gaslamp. Mix in some rooftop drinks with good food, that’s the ultimate San Diego week.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A lot of where I am today comes from the people who were around me early on. Especially those I worked with in the field. Being on job sites, watching others, picking things up hands-on, and learning through real experience played a big role in shaping my work ethic and skill.
I also give credit to the people who pushed me, even indirectly, the ones who set a standard, expected more, or showed me what quality really looks like. Not everything came from support; some of it came from pressure, challenges, and having to figure things out on my own. That’s what built resilience.
And honestly, a big part of the journey is personal too, staying disciplined, showing up every day, and continuing to improve even when no one is watching.
Every experience, good or bad, helped shape how I work today. That’s something I carry into everything I do.
