We had the good fortune of connecting with Cole Shute and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cole, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I decided to start my business, my thought process was to work hard and be my own boss. I have always wanted to start my own business but was not surrounding myself with motivating people and was being lazy. Once I realized that no one will motivate me but myself, I kicked my butt into gear and made things happen. I’ve only been up and running for a few months and already starting to get multiple bookings.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
So my business is Event Planning. I do birthdays, baby showers, proposals, weddings, Picnic dates etc. What sets me apart from other businesses is I am very hands on and making sure my clients are taken care of to the fullest. There’s no saying “No” in my eyes. You want something, I’ll make it happen! In the beginning it was rough but, I had a vision and made it come true. A few lessons I’ve learned is that it takes time and to not get discouraged. Just stay positive and keep working for your dream. If you don’t do the work, you don’t get the success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m from Sunny San Diego, so if I was to take my best friend out to show them a good time, I’d probably stop by Oceanside at The Rooftop Bar first for some cocktails. Possibly go to a comedy show down at the La Jolla Comedy Club . Im all about the water so renting a boat for the day, wake boarding, enjoying the sun. Anything active and by the beach.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d say the one person who has really helped me see my worth and pushed me to start is @alicat_photo. She is a single mother who runs her own photography company.
