We had the good fortune of connecting with Clint Brandon Cave and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Clint Brandon, how do you think about risk?
I am a calculated risk taker, I am a firm believer in “no risk, no reward”. All of the best experiences that I have gone through in my life all stem from risk. I like to think of it as shaking the dice. Once you muster up the strength to actually do something that you’re nervous about, the chain of events that take place after are amazing. My career started with me shaking the dice to leave a job to go and travel, which led to me picking up a camera, which led to me creating beautiful content, which brought me to California, and so much more. I just firmly believe that in order to get a reward, risk needs to be involved.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from other creatives is that during whatever event Im shooting, I make sure to do my homework on before I get there. This gives me a security so that I can connect with whatever is going on. Usually whenever you have a camera out and you’re working with someone who isn’t a model, depending on who they are they can get a little camera shy. This is important to avoid to make sure your footage looks authentic and not forced. During the events I shoot, I make sure to talk with my subjects and connect with the people in my environment. This creates a setting of comfortability which then makes them that much more comfortable in front of the lens and creates a more organic shot.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The thing about favorite spots are that, they are in the cut. Meaning its not too crowded and people are there for the experience and not for the instagram picture. I don’t want to share my favorite food spots because they are small, local, hole in the wall places that remind me of home. But for the sake of answering questions, I would definitely take my best friend jet-skiing at fiesta island, who doesn’t love thrills like that.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I believe the people in my network deserve the biggest shoutout, my family, closest friends, and mentors. I would not be where I am without them, and I want to shout them out for always being in my corner, telling me yes, telling me no, and most of all telling me that they believe in me.
