We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryn Reynolds and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bryn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I retired from law enforcement, and the military, I took up drawing as a hobby for some reason. I had never tried it before, but when I started posting my drawings online people seemed to like them. I started to offering the originals for sale, and now I also draw custom pet, people, and home portraits. Just a few years later, Dark Mountain Arts has really taken off for me!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Bryn Reynolds is a retired Police SWAT Captain. He also had a 25 yr. concurrent career in the US Army as a Cavalry Scout, having served several combat deployments to Iraq & Afghanistan.
Upon retirement, he took up drawing as a hobby, and started his small business called ‘Dark Mountain Arts.’
He is an avid outdoorsman and mountaineer, and his artwork “draws” heavily from his extensive travels to remote and mountainous regions of the globe.
He and his Artworks have been featured on ABC TV News, The Today Show, and various other print an TV media outlets.
He is now ‘armed’ with artist’s pens, and his unique perspectives of the natural world have transformed from being viewed through night vision to being captured captured on sketch paper.
Bryn Reynolds and his ‘Dark Mountain’ attempts to convery to the viewer a love of outdoor adventure and fuel their sense of wanderlust!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I really want to thank my family for their support in this “art stuff” endeavor. After many years of deploying all over the world with the Army, and getting called out in the middle of the night for the SWAT team, this new retirement venture allows me to be home much more. I also want to thank my customers that trust me to draw their beloved pets, family members, homes and favorite locations!
