We had the good fortune of connecting with Ariana Torres and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ariana, how do you think about risk?
When I reflect on what “risk taking” signifies to me I first reflect on the years I spent living in my comfort zone, seeking security and safety in fear of stepping into the unknown. During my late 20s, I worked towards releasing old stories and re-programming my mind so that I could view risks as something exciting, something essential for my own growth and transformation. It ultimately came down to giving the word a new energy – charging it with new intentions. I believe most of life is about re-framing past thoughts and ideas so that you can choose a new perspective that best serves you. In my business, taking large risks means trusting that I will always be supported. Whether I’m launching a new program, investing in something new or simply allowing myself to be seen and witnessed, I can experience a deeper sense of peace. It’s a process of releasing expectations and instead leaning more into the excitement so that I can remain open to the unlimited possibilities that await me on the other side!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
After years of suffering from crippling anxiety and chronic stress, I began to explore holistic healing in an effort to heal myself. This is also where I began to deepen my relationship with yoga and a mindfulness practice. Identifying the tools that would continue to nurture and support my emotional and physical well being. Inspired by the teachers and healers I was meeting, I vowed to also share the lessons and findings that transformed my life with those seeking to regain control of theirs. My intention as an intuitive wellness coach is to help others restore their relationship with their emotional bodies. Providing the tools to help manage their anxiety so they can cultivate a deepen sense of emotional empowerment. Today, I guide and empower my community by offering 1:1 breathwork, meditation and mindfulness virtual sessions along with 3 month coaching programs. My mission also continues to be rooted in dismantling cultural and social stigmas and making mental health and inner healing accessible to all.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I currently live in a small beach town near the Mexican border and if I were hosting a friend from out of town we would start off the day taking a walk on the Imperial Beach pier, heading out to the local estuary for a bike-ride, indulging in some delicious authentic Mexican food at Lolitas, visting a few vintage shops and grabbing dinner at the SEA180, a beachfront hotel where we could also catch the sunset! If time allows we would take a road-trip down to San Felipe in Baja California.
