We had the good fortune of connecting with Angie & Marc Rosenberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angie & Marc, what principle do you value most?
The value that matters the most to us as a family and business are helping others and serving. We initially connected over this value and have continued to work hard in our daily life at home and with work to find a way to give back. Marc and I are both licensed marriage and family therapists and we work with clients daily to help them define what matters to them and how to achieve their goals. In addition, we have rescued animals who are now our dog pals in our home. We take care of the earth by composting, gardening, and recycling, or reusing like crazy. It’s also not strange to find us at a garage sale where we can make use of other people’s items. Living in Encinitas it’s also common to find really good items for free on the street. We have been able to repurpose these or make improvements to them and find homes for the free stuff. We watch our consumption in general trying to be mindful of what comes in and out of our homes, bodies, and mind. Now that we are raising a toddler and expecting baby number two in a few months, we have been able to pass these values of caring for others, animals, and the earth to our son and baby girl.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My husband and I are both licensed marriage and family therapists in Encinitas, CA. Marc is also a board-certified behavior analyst and Angie is a board-certified music therapist. What sets us apart is what we offer to our clients. It’s not uncommon to find us on the trail or the beach with clients working through life’s stressors. We enjoy combining light exercise while processing with clients as we know that the body and mind are interconnected. We also offer virtual services for the majority of our clients. It has been a long road to get to where we are now with several contract jobs, lots of client hours, lots of studying, and lots of patience while we built our practice to where it is today. We have overcome challenges by accepting realities along the way, problem-solving, and continuing to persevere towards our goal. One huge lesson we are still learning is that things come in seasons with our work, sometimes it’s really busy and sometimes it slows down. What we want people to know about us is that when you work with us you will experience a comprehensive approach focused on your lifestyle, body, mind, and how you give back. We know that we can all be more motivated and successful if we give a little to those around us.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d probably start with a short hike off of La Costa for stunning ocean views and perspective. Then we’d recommend a day at Cardiff beach and ordering lunch from Seaside. When the sun starts to set we would call in an order at Birdseye Kitchen and have a bonfire in our backyard.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We greatly appreciate all of our fellow colleagues in the mental health field. You continue to do amazing work every day and continue to support us with clinical questions, business ideas, and how to maintain a good balance. To any and all of you who work in the field, keep doing the work that you do! We are living in a time of great need and what you do matters.
